The Division of Educational and Child Psychology annual conference was held in Northampton this year. The theme was 'A 20:20 vision of Educational Psychology: play, learning, inclusion and diversity'. I asked Professor Peter Lee about his field research with RAF Reaper drone pilots, which is reported in detail in his book Reaper Force. He said that 'there is a spectrum of responses to killing far-off enemies', and told me that it is wrong to assume that drone pilots dehumanise their targets. Read the interview here.
